What should I do if my water heater is leaking from the top?

If water is leaking from the top, shut off the cold-water valve and power. Use the breaker for electric and set gas control to off/pilot.

  • Dry the top and check inlet/outlet nipples and flex lines.
  • Inspect the T&P valve connection and the anode/cap.
  • Do not tighten corroded parts; call a licensed plumber. Parrish Services offers 24/7 same-day repair, next-day installation, and we pull permits in Leesburg and nearby cities.
