How can I fix a wobbling ceiling fan without a balancing kit?

Most ceiling-fan wobble comes from loose hardware or uneven blades. You can often fix it without a balancing kit by tightening and rechecking the fan.

Quick checks:

  • Tighten blade-to-bracket screws and the screws at the downrod, canopy, and mounting bracket.
  • Make sure all blades are clean, straight, and the same height; gently adjust if bent.
  • Swap two opposite blades to see if balance improves.
  • Confirm the electrical box and bracket are firmly secured.

If wobble remains, our certified electricians can correct it and ensure code-compliant work in Reston.
